The Local Organising Committee will use the 31st CAF general assembly in Nigeria to update the Confederation of African Football on the 2010 World Cup finals.
Johannesburg-based Kalusha Bwalya will also seek a position in the CAF executive at the meeting in Lagos on February 10 and 11.
Byalwa, president of the Football Association of Zambia, is coming up against Sukete Patel of the Seychelles for the position of southern Africa representative.
Patel is also the president of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations and holds the same position in his home association.
Danny Jordaan, the LOC's chief executive officer, said going to Lagos was in line with the promise to make it an African World Cup.
"When we were bidding, we made it loud and clear that it will be an African World Cup. Africans must be updated with the developments regarding the preparations.
"We will also be attending the CAF Player of the Year awards."
Jordaan also announced that the sale of World Cup tickets will not be different from the Confederations Cup.
World Cup tickets are going on sale on February 20, with the category-four tickets (exclusively for South Africans) costing R140.
South Africans and foreign national based in this country can apply for the tickets at the First National Bank branches or online at www.fifa.com.
"It's the same procedure used for the Confed Cup, we urge our people to apply for the tickets to avoid missing out on the big historic soccer spectacle," said Jordaan.
Meanwhile, Jordaan is impressed with the progress in the construction of the Nelson Mandela Bay Sports Complex in Port Elizabeth after going to the site on Tuesday.
"It is extremely exciting to see a brand-new 2010 Fifa World Cup venue taking shape so many months ahead of its Fifa World Cup completion deadline," he said.
Jordaan, who is from Port Elizabeth, also walked on the newly laid pitch and took in a view of a stadium that has 40000 of its 48000 seats installed.
Just over half of the 36 girders that will support the roof have been erected. The columns, slabs, precast seating, precast raking beams and moat have been completed.
