Apart from being involved in a bitter battle with his sister and brother-in-law, Glaton Modise, the leader of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, is embroiled in two other court cases with a former church member.
Modise is accusing Joel Ramolotja of theft and fraud.
Ramolotja appeared in the Bela Bela magistrate's court in Limpopo on Friday.
The case was postponed to March 13. However, Ramolotja has laid a counter charge of kidnapping against Modise.
Ramolotja said his woes started on October 28 last year when Modise accused him of stealing from his factory, Blue Bird Steel Works.
"He accused me in front of other employees that I was a thief. He said I stole windows and roof sheeting," he said.
"He told the employees they would not get paid because I stole their salaries."
Ramolotja, who was sales and general manager at the company, said Modise took him to his house to search for stolen goods.
"When he saw my house he said I could not have afforded such a big house without his money," he said. He said Modise also accused his wife of stealing.
"My wife produced receipts to prove that we bought the material," he said.
He said Modise became agitated, and with the help of his bodyguards bundled him into a car and drove to the church's headquarters in Zuurbekom, Johannesburg.
He said he was locked in a room for the whole night.
Ramolotja, the owner of Lesedi Labatho, a steel company, said he could not escape because the room was guarded by two vicious dogs.
"At dawn the following day I realised that the dogs were asleep and I managed to escape," he said.
Ramolotja said he laid a charge at Cyferskuil police station in North West in October.
