The departure in November last year of Nthateng Lerata from Capricorn FM has opened doors for two enthusiastic presenters for Limpopo's commercial station.

The likeable Lerata left the station due to family commitments.

Yesterday the station unveiled two new presenters, one to take over from Lerata, and the other a sports producer.

Their appointments become effective next month.

Khensani Nyango and Lethabo Kganyago have been entrusted with the responsibility of increasing the station's listenership once they go on air.

The station surpassed its expectations last year when, in its first year of broadcast, it amassed a whooping 1,5 million listeners.

Nyango, who was recruited from the Phalaborwa Community Radio Station, will fill the shoes of Lerata while Kganyago will produce sports on weekends.

Nyango brings a wealth of experience having presented a day-time show in her previous job.

Kganyago previously worked for Turf FM, a radio station at the University of Limpopo near Polokwane.

Shonisani Muleya, the station's manager, said there was a lot of interest by people willing to take on the challenge, but the two "showed extraordinary talent to take the station to another level".

"We wanted to empower locals by giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent on Capricorn FM."
