Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed the club will fine record signing Robinho following his training ground walk-out in Tenerife last week.

The £32,5million (about R455 million) forward made an unscheduled departure by flying home to Brazil without telling Hughes that he had to attend some "family business".

"I have told Robby about the situation and our intention is to fine him," revealed Hughes.

The former Wales boss is expected to fine Robinho a fortnight's wages - an estimated £200000 (R2,8 million) - as punishment. - BBC
