Police are urging victims of crime on the corner of Old Pretoria Road and Tora Crescent to report to the Bramley police station for an identity parade on Thursday.

A 21-year-old man suspected of being involved in smash-and-grabs, armed robberies and car hijackings was arrested in December.

"After we arrested this man, we have not had any incidents reported. We suspect that he is behind the numerous crimes that occurred in that area throughout last year," police spokesman Inspector Moses Maphakela said.

He said the man was arrested more than a month ago when he tried to hijack a Mercedes SLK.

Two men were arrested after robbing a businessman of R35000 on Friday.

Maphakela said the men had followed their victim from two banks in Balfour Park to his business residence in Wynberg.

"When he parked outside his offices, they ordered him at gunpoint to walk inside the building with them. They took the money bag he was carrying but while fleeing, the were confronted by police who had been patrolling the area and were arrested."

They will appear in the Wynberg magistrate's court today.

Meanwhile, residents of two houses in Marlboro Gardens are still in shock after a bulldozer crashed into their houses causing major damage and injuring three people yesterday afternoon.

The driver of the bulldozer had allegedly stolen it from a construction site and it went out of control while he was trying to flee. The three people injured were residents who were standing in the yard.

ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said: "The driver was not injured but he was arrested."
