Murder is a cowardly and barbaric way of resolving differences.
It is for this reason that we condemn the killing of Inkosi Mbongeleni Zondi, the great-grandson of the famous Zulu warrior Bhambatha, at Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal last week.
Reports that police discovered more than 50 spent AK-47 cartridges on the crime scene is proof enough of the criminals' intention to make sure he was killed.
Whatever the motive, this was a cowardly act against someone described as a people's person who did not even have a bodyguard.
We hope the police, with the help of the public, will leave no stone unturned in tracing and bringing to book the criminals who committed this heinous deed.
