Stop this power struggle

I doubt if Julius Malema and Zwelinzima Vavi are prepared to die for President Kgalema Motlanthe. It appears they are only prepared to die for ANC president Jacob Zuma.

Recently, Motlanthe has been under severe attack from his comrades and the media. There is no doubt that the media is being used to tarnish the president's image. Sadly, no one - including the ANC - has come to his defence.

Why is it that the SACP's general-`secretary Blade Nzimande is always involved in controversy (real or imagined) of some sort? Is there a conspiracy against Nzimande or is he a problem? Nzimande leads a gang that is anti-Motlanthe.

Not so long ago, the media reported that the SACP general-secretary took the ruling party's deputy president to task for not consulting the ANC and its alliance partners regarding his decision to fire former NPA boss Vusi Pikoli.

As expected, he has denied that he is against Motlanthe. Nzimande has also denied that he wants to be the country's deputy president after the next elections.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

It is apparent that a power struggle is raging on within the ruling party. It appears that Motlanthe is a victim, not that he is innocent in this whole saga. When will this madness within the ANC end?
