Americans so naive

I just can't get over my amazement at Americans whenever SuperSport plays the shot where Oscar de la Hoya fails to answer the bell in the ninth round in his fight against Manny Pacquiao.

What amazes me most is the commentator who screams that De la Hoya's loss is a "huge upset".

English is not my first language. Maybe the Bantu English I was taught at school was the British version and the word "upset" in American English means something else.

Pacquiao has beaten the best in boxing. He destroyed Mexico's Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales twice. What has De la Hoya done lately? Nothing. If the American public were expecting Pacquiao to lose they are actually more naive than I had thought at first.

Anyway, these are the same people who proclaimed that Isaac Hlatswayo couldn't understand or speak English when he was over there in 2007.
