Kaizer Chiefs moved to the fourth position on the Absa Premiership log with a 2-1 victory over Thanda Royal Zulu at Kings Park Stadium in Durban yesterday.

Thanda were without Bernard Parker who watched the proceedings from the stands. He has joined Serbian club Red Star Belgrade and is expected to leave the country tomorrow.

Parker became the first player to receive the Absa Premiership Milestone Award after reaching the 10-goal landmark in the league and was presented with a cheque for R10000 before the match.

Back to the match, Amabhubesi surprised their more fancied opponents with an early goal by Musa Nyatama in the fourth minute. They continued to push forward but were let down by Sibusiso Hadebe who missed two sitters.

Chiefs gradually gained momentum with Arthur Zwane and Abia Nale showing glimpses of brilliance.

They managed to level the score in the 27th minute when Thanda goalie Aubrey Mathibe failed to handle Zwane's shot and Kaizer Motaung junior calmly finished off the rebound.

Zwane scored the winner after he was set up by man of the match Nale in the 85th minute.

l Bay United and Moroka Swallows shared the spoils when they played to a 1-all draw at the EPRU Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The Birds scored first through Sandile Ndlovuin the 11th minute. United levelled the score through a Siyabulela Songwiqi penalty in the 55th minute.

l University of Pretoria tightened their grip on top of the National First Division inland stream log when they hammered Winners Park 4-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium yesterday, writes Matome Lebea. Thabo Moleko scored a brace while other goals where netted by Nkosinathi Ogle and Doctor Skhosana.
