The Springbok women's rugby team returns to camp in Port Elizabeth from tomorrow to prepare for the maiden IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament in Dubai from March 5 to 7.

South Africa qualified for the world tournament after beating Uganda in the final of qualifiers in Kampala last September, with the beaten finalists also qualifying.

Other countries represented at the tournament include Brazil, England, Russia, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand and China.

Coach Denver Wannies yesterday said they were expecting 16 players to report for the training camp that will run until Sunday.

"We had two training camps before the Christmas recess and now we are back in full swing."

The SA squad: Yolanda Meiring (Blue Bulls), Natasha Hofmeester (Boland), Mandisa Williams, Ziyande Tywaleni (both Border), Saloma Booysen, Lorinda Brown, Lamla Momoti, Nomathansanqa Faleni, Phumeza Gadu, Zenay Jordaan, Zandile Nojoko, Charmaine Kayser (Eastern Province), Marilize Jordaan (Free State), Nombulelo Mayonga (Griffons), Aimee Barrett (KZN) and Nadine Barnard (Western Province).
