drugs for kids?
Gauteng police say the arrest of a suspected drug dealer to be charged with selling to schoolchildren has come "at the right time" - as schools start the new year.
The arrest followed a raid in Boschkop, Pretoria. Drugs with a street value of R140000 were seized.
Police spokesman Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said: "We are not ruling out the possibility that the suspect's customers are schoolchildren. His arrest comes at the right time as schools arereopening.
"During November and December several schools were raided and police seized 316kg of dagga, 4 grams of CAT, 40 heroin tablets, 10 grams of cocaine rocks and 54 Mandrax tablets."
The arrest came after the Pretoria organised crime unit received information that a storage facility was being used as a distribution point for drug dealing.
"A raid was carried out when the suspect entered the premises and several drugs, including ecstasy, cocaine, dagga, hashish, crystal meth, CAT and LSD were seized," Dlamini said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Pretoria magistrate's court today.
