The Polokwane municipality has started rolling out the R165 million road infrastructure projects leading to the Peter Mokaba Sports Centre for the 2010 World Cup.

The Polokwane municipality has started rolling out the R165 million road infrastructure projects leading to the Peter Mokaba Sports Centre for the 2010 World Cup.

Ndavhe Ramakuela, the city's 2010 World Cup director, said: "As a result of the projects which started last week, several roads will be temporarily closed.

"We have divided the projects into four clusters, covering a distance of 12km. These are the roads leading to the stadium, fan parks and other World Cup activities.

"The plan is to complete the projects by the end of March."

Ramakuela also announced that the N1 freeway to Polokwane from Gauteng will also be affected by the road developments.
