High school supplementary education provider Star Schools has launched a set of online applications aimed at assisting struggling high school students improve their grades.
For over 40 years Star Schools has provided a set of programmes for matriculants whose performance was not sufficient for certain tertiary courses.
Star Schools is accredited by Umalusi council, a standards monitor for further education in secondary and tertiary levels, which is appointed by the education minister. It currently has 15000 registered students in Grades 10, 11 and 12.
It has a presence in all nine provinces and has 100 educators, authors and moderators who interact with students during the Saturday school programmes, which focus on Science, Maths and English courses.
"Its various educational tools, such as simulators, animation and video will not only help learners but also provide educators with teaching resources where these may be lacking," said Star Schools chief executive Atulkumar Patel.
The application also has quizzes which are linked to a network that notifies local educators when a particular student is struggling with the material.
