Swallows take on Maritzburg in a tailspin

Moroka Swallows' performance in the current Absa Premiership season has given new meaning to the the word "inconsistent".

The Birds would fly beautifully one weekend only to be an eyesore the next.

This is a major cause for concern for coach Julio Leal and club management, and they have had to come up with ways of helping the players to regain their confidence.

The public eye will be on them to see how they will fare against the battling Maritzburg United, their visitors at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 3.30pm.

Both teams are still smarting from setbacks after The Team of Choice lost 0-2 to Thanda Royal Zulu and Swallows lost 1-0 to Bidvest Wits.

Swallows also lost 2-4 to Thanda and the way they have been playing lately it would be risky for their fans to bet their last cent on them against United on Sunday.

United's mentor Gordon Igesund and Leal will take full-strength squads to this match in their desperation to recuperate.

David Radebe, Ryan Botha, Cecil Oersen and Lefa Tsutsulupa are the players Leal should look to turn their fortunes around. Igesund will pin his hopes on the likes of Tony Tsabedze and Lebohang Kukame.
