Multiple award winning boxing promoter Branco Milenkovic is one of the benefactors of the ANC's manifesto pre-launch and gala dinner at the Regent and River Park hotels in East London today and tomorrow .

Milenkovic, a naturalised South African from Serbia who has done a sterling job in boxing here and abroad, confirmed his contribution to this event where ANC president Jacob Zuma will address the party's manifesto.

"I have worked very closely with various provincial governments in the past four years, mainly Gauteng, North West, West and Eastern Cape.

"My last big international tournament, which featured two IBF title eliminators at Jan Smuts Stadium, was supported by the Eastern Cape government so I felt this was a perfect opportunity for me to plough back into this province," said Milenkovic.

This shrewd businessman co-owns Branco Sports Production with retired former world boxing champion Jacob Matlala.

The towering Milenkovic and the pint sized Matlala control South Africa's current big name fighters like IBF junior lightweight champion Cassius "Hitman" Baloyi, IBO bantamweight king Silence "Real Deal" Mabuza and Mzonke "The Rose of Khayelitsha" Fana, to mention but a few.

Milenkovic is probably the first sports personality in South Africa ever to publicly announce his financial support for an event of this magnitude.

The launch of the ANC's manifesto will coincide with its 97th anniversary.
