The Cape Cobras and the Dolphins have booked themselves a berth in the semifinals of the lucrative MTN Domestic Championship that start on Friday.

Both sides won their last matches of the season by resounding margins at the weekend.

The Cobras crushed the Highveld Lions by 53 runs in Paarl to maintain their third spot on the log while the Dolphins beat the Warriors by three wickets in Port Elizabeth to finish the season in fourth position.

Both outfits produced outstanding performances after most of the teams, including the table-topping Eagles and second placed Titans, had wrapped up their fixtures last week.

Reigning champions the Titans host the Cobras in the first semifinal at SuperSport Park, Centurion in Pretoria on Friday at 4.15pm.

In the second semi billed for Bloemfontein on Sunday, the Eagles entertain the Dolphins with a scheduled start of 10am.

The final will be held on January 16 at a venue still to be decided.

The cellular company will be celebrating its tenth year of involvement in South Africa cricket with several exciting initiatives.
