An unnamed Angola Ladies team will make their debut in the fourth edition of the Shosholoza KFC Four Nations Women's Tournament in Swaziland from January 31 to February 2.

This was confirmed yesterday by the tournament coordinator Esau du-Pont who added that the inclusion of the Angolans in the competition will increase the participating countries to four.

Other participating countries are South Africa, who are represented by Nigel Ladies, Mozambique (Ajax Ladies) and Swaziland (Kappa and Muchachas Ladies).

The tournament started in 2006 with South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland taking part.

Du-Pont said this year's competition is bankrolled by KFC in Swaziland to tune of R95 000.

The sponsorship will cover prize money, accommodation, food and playing kits for all the teams, among other things.

"We are satisfied that the tournament is gradually growing," said Du-Pont.

"We hope to put more effort next season into encouraging other African women's teams such as those from Lesotho and Botswana to come on board."

The two-day tournament will be played on a round-robin basis with the top team taking home R5000 and medals.

Mozambique were the winners in 2006 and 2007, and Swaziland's Muchachas lifted the title last year.
