We the PAC of Azania are touched by the demise of our mother, comforter and leader Helen Suzman.

She will be remembered by all Africanists who still bear the scars of apartheid. The fearless mother fought against the Immorality and Group Areas acts, forced removals and pass laws.

She was the only MP to vote against the Terrorism Bill of 1967.

When Robert Sobukwe died Suzman said: "Mr Sobukwe would have been an agent for peaceful change if he could have communicated between the government and black people who had confidence in him."
