Gifted linkman Abia Nale contradicted Kaizer Chiefs' publicist Siyabulela Makunga when he stressed yesterday that he has signed for Amakhosi.

"I have joined Chiefs and I'm happy that I'm their player now," said an elated Nale yesterday.

"I was made to feel at home by all the players when I started training with them [on Saturday].

"I don't think it will take me long to adjust to their system. They play my type of football."

His comments came after Makunga told Sowetan on Sunday that the former Lamontville Golden Arrows player was still to sign on the dotted line for Amakhosi.

He also stressed that he should not be regarded as a Messiah - the answer to all of Amakhosi's problems.

"Chiefs are a very good team and definitely not a one-man team. They have succeeded because they always play as a collective," Nale said.

"I will also want to take this opportunity to thank people like Mato Madlala [Arrows' managing director and chairman] for helping me in my career."

He also has the highest regard for Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Nale was also courted by his former team, Orlando Pirates and last week said he had not signed any pre-contract with Chiefs.

"I was advised not to comment about the issue and that is why I ended up saying that I had not signed with Chiefs," he explained.
