UN and West fail Palestinians

Since 1967 the world has watched the ethnic cleansing carried out by Israel in Palestine. Today, close to 400 innocent people have been killed by these "apartheid" forces.

And this is all done to fulfil the Jewish project of annexing Palestinian land and establishing a larger Jewish state.

The plight of the Palestinian people seems to lie in the hands of the UN and the Western governments. Unfortunately, both institutions represent the same interests.

The UN has so far passed more than 500 resolutions, at General Assembly and Security Council level, condemning and calling on Israel to act within the principles of the UN Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

But all those resolutions have never had any effect because the West made it their responsibility to protect this ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians.

Any call made to the UN to condemn Israel and to take action is myopic. What is needed is for civil societies in their own countries to force their governments to cut ties with and impose sanctions against this imperialist and fascist state.

The Zionist state is an occupying force and it must be forced to withdraw to the 1965 borders before it can re-enter global politics. Also, there is a need to send a peacekeeping force, with the power to use all means possible, to provide protection to Palestine's civilian population.
