"To those among the 62,5percent of the 589912 who sat for the matric exams, we congratulate you for the hard work you put in to attain a successful pass. We also thank the teachers and caregivers for the efforts they have made," said the party in a statement yesterday.
The ANC said a proper education "remained the centre of everything".
"It [education] would ensure the country had the the requisite numbers of skilled people to ensure that our economy grows - and that we are able to create the environment needed to improve on the number of new jobs that are created every year."
