Record producer Jermaine Dupri has slammed reports that he has split from longtime love Janet Jackson.

The two have been an item for four years, and were only recently rumoured to be planning to marry and start a family.

Reports this week claimed the couple had been arguing about the singer's recently stalled tour and that, as a result, Dupri had moved out of Jackson's Los Angeles home.

But Dupri has set the record straight with an online posting, assuring fans the couple are still together - while insisting that they are not preparing for their first child.

In a message "to all the Janet fans", he says on his blog: "No, she is not pregnant and yes, we're still together.

"It baffles me how y'all let these blogs and magazines control your lifes [sic]," he says.

Meanwhile, the author of a new biography of Michael Jackson, pictured, has sparked rumours that the star is seriously ill - suggesting that he might be suffering from a deadly lung condition.

Ian Halperin, a former writer for Rolling Stone magazine, is producing a book about Jackson's life and has detailed the Thriller hitmaker's medical problems, claiming he is suffering from a condition known as Alpha-1 anti-trypsin deficiency, a potentially fatal genetic illness.

Halperin says that Jackson is losing his vision in his left eye and has subsequently developed emphysema, a lung condition linked to heavy smoking, which can be caused by Alpha-1. - Wenn
