The South African National Editors Forum says ANC president Jacob Zuma has the right to approach the courts if he feels aggrieved.
Sanef's statement follows media reports that Zuma is suing Jonathan Shapiro, the Sunday Times and its holding company for R7million for a controversial cartoon published earlier this year.
"There is nothing sinister about Zuma approaching the courts if he feels aggrieved," Sanef media head Khathu Mamaila said yesterday. "In a constitutional democracy he has the right to do so."
