The Jacob Zuma homestead in Nkandla, northern KwaZulu-Natal, will be a hive of activity from this evening.

The Zumas will be preparing to welcome their Zimbabwean son-in-law, Bongani Ncube, who is marrying Gugulethu Zuma, the daughter of Jacob and Nkosazana-Dlamini-Zuma.

Ncube is the son of Movement for Democratic Change general secretary Welshman Ncube.

Gugulethu is an actress best known for her role as Sergeant Bhelu Mini in the SABC1 drama series Interrogation Room.

Though details of the white wedding are being kept a secret a close family friend confirmed that the wedding will take place at Dlamini-Zuma's home in Pretoria.

"There will be an umembeso, a traditional exchanging of gifts, between the two families on Friday.

"This will be followed by a white wedding the next day.

"Then the traditional wedding will be held in Bulawayo in Zimbabwe on December 27," the informant said.

Hundreds of people, including top politicians from Zimbabwe and South Africa, are expected to attend the ceremony.

Zuma is expected to host an umemulo, the slaughtering of a cow, to symbolically acknowledge his giving away of his daughter next Tuesday at his Nkandla rural village.
