In Tshwane President Kgalema Motlanthe and Thabo Mbeki attended a government function with Pallo Jordan, who recently admired Mbeki's brilliance.
Was Mbeki invited because he was Zuma's commander in Swaziland and was Mbeki trained in the USSR?
People will make a rational choice as to who represents the future. Certainly not Zuma, who gave a history lecture on MK. Young people who never took part in MK were given uniforms to parade for Zuma, who like Robert Mugabe, evokes a spirit of liberation armies whenever challenges arise.
Motlanthe and Lekota talked mainly about future challenges. The past is very important but 15 years after liberation people want jobs, food, security, houses and education.
My choice in 2009 will be a party that looks to the future. Certainly not an ANC that is paranoid about the past.
