In the two weeks that he has been training with SuperSport United Mulondo Sikhwivhilu seems to have made an impression on SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt.

Hunt says the champions might sign the player, but that he had not yet made up his mind about it.

"We are obviously still observing him and waiting to see if he is the right player for us," Hunt said.

The coach sang the praises of the former Black Leopards and Orlando Pirates player.

If he does join United, Sikhwivhilu will find himself among some of the best players in the country such as Bafana Bafana's Katlego Mashego and Liberian Anthony Laffor.

In addition to their quest to defend their domestic title, United also have a tough season ahead in the African Champions League, and the toll that this competition takes on players is well documented.

"He is a great player who can play in the box and is very strong.

"We need another striker in the team.

"We cannot have any more foreign players in the team and I have also had a couple of youngsters from the Academy at training with the first team," said Hunt.

Sikhwivhilu is Leopards' all-time leading scorer, who played a pivotal role when Lidoda Duvha gained promotion to the elite league.

But he had appeared to have lost his goal-scoring touch when he was reunited with the Thohoyandou-based club from Pirates last season.

He also failed to shine when he joined the Buccaneers' ship three seasons ago, along with Rudzani Ramudzuli.
