A family in Umlazi's E-section has been battling for the past two weeks to bury their relatives because they do not have money.

Three members of the Hlophe family were killed in two separate incidents in one week.

They were allegedly killed by unknown men who were looking for another member of the family who was not home at the time.

Danisile, 45, and Thandi Hlophe, 48, and Sphamandla Ngcobo, 25, were shot and killed before the house was torched.

Now the family is struggling to raise money to bury the three, and two weeks later the bodies are still in the mortuary.

A 30-year-old woman, who witnessed the killings, said she desperately needs help to bury her relatives.

"I am the only adult with 10 children who survived. I am unemployed, I have tried borrowing from relatives but in vain," she said.
