Collen Ntateng Nkoenyane could have been mistaken for just a humble person in life.

But those who knew his real identity were criminals who were subjected to his wrath in the Mankweng magistrate's court in Limpopo, where he served as chief magistrate.

He showed no mercy, especially to criminals who made life unbearable to law-abiding citizens.

Collen was a friendly person who found it easy to interact with people from diverse backgrounds. Those who were close to him were even surprised that he belonged to two churches - the ZCC and Roman Catholic Church.

After matriculating at Mokopane Training College in Potgietersrus he studied law at the University of Zululand.

The pain of losing you is immeasurable because you were not only a brother but also a responsible father who looked after the entire family.

Collen will be buried tomorrow at Mankweng Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Thoko, daughters Thobile and Sindi, three sisters and a granddaughter.
