His candle will keep shining for generations
The passing of Nthato Motlana, founder and former chairman of Sizwe Medical Fund, is a loss not only to South Africa but the whole world. We are saddened at the departure of one of our country's greatest heroes.
As founder of the Sizwe Medical Fund, we are particularly saddened that he passed away as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of his greatest efforts. He had the vision and passion for the wellbeing of his people. He was a great icon for the old and the young.
The doctor pioneered black entrepreneurship. He was one of the most tireless and effective political activists. For him, no good task was too difficult.
He will forever remain dear to us. He was the greatest father of the nation. Some of us must really count our blessings to have directly benefited spiritually, politically, socially and economically from this selfless legend. His candle will keep shining for generations.
Motlana was a shrewd businessman and a powerful politician who promoted and believed in gender equality and the culture of learning.
He always encouraged us to read the newspapers every day. He believed in an informed nation.
His wish was to see more youth excelling in science and mathematics. We need to keep his legacy and make South Africa an educated country.
Nothing less than this would make him prouder.
Lala ngoxolo, baba wethu.
