Cops have nabbed a Jomo Cosmos player for driving a car with someone else's licence.

Godfrey "Skuveve" Mahlangu was driving in Parkview, Johannesburg, when police stopped him on Tuesday night after they noticed that his driving skills were suspect.

A source said: "He tried to be clever with the police and produced someone's licence. The police were so mad that they tossed him into a van and then into the cells."

He spent a night in the Hillbrow holding cells and was released on Wednesday on R1000 bail.

According to the charge sheet Mahlangu was initially charged with fraud.

Later his lawyer, Sibusiso Mashinini, approached the senior public prosecutor and the indictment was changed to the lesser charge of driving without a licence.

The footie paid an admission of guilt fine of R500.

"Godfrey borrowed the car to test drive it," our source said. "He does not have a licence and has been doing this for some time. It was high time the cops nabbed him."
