KwaZulu-Natal police will be out in full force to deal with the influx of spectators during the crunch Telkom Knockout final between Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town.

The Urban Warriors and Buccaneers will meet at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Saturday night. The city is already expecting an influx of holidaymakers as the festive season begins.

The police have warned that they will not allow drunk and disorderly conduct near the stadium and those who misbehave will be turned away at the gates.

Police spokesman Superintendent Jay Naicker said they had a joint plan in place to facilitate policing before, during and after the match.

Naicker said the operation involved metro police, disaster management, emergency medical rescue services and security officials from the Premier Soccer League.

Naicker also said there would be increased volumes of traffic around the stadium and on all routes leading to the stadium.

He urged motorists to exercise patience.
