Rising swimmer Malesela Molepo announced his arrival on the international stage by winning a bronze medal at the Zone Six Games in Potchefstroom on Monday night.

The youngster from Polokwane in Limpopo finished third in the 50m breaststroke, an event won by compatriot Christopher Langley.

Namibian Maximilian Siedentopf settled for silver.

A fan of American superstars Michael Phelps and Tiger Woods, Molope started competing at his parents' swimming pool in Benina Park three years ago.
