More than 60 athletes from Thohoyandou-based Mbvudi Athletic Club will knuckle down to serious business at the 13-day training camp that starts today.

More than 60 athletes from Thohoyandou-based Mbvudi Athletic Club will knuckle down to serious business at the 13-day training camp that starts today.

This is part of their preparations for Athletics South Africa's 2009 season which starts early next month.

This was announced by MAC after their yearly 10km which was held in Thohoyandou last Saturday.

The race was part of the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children campaign.

Bethuel Netshifhefhe won the senior men's category in a time of 31min:33sec.

Nditshene Mathobo came second in 32:44 and was followed by Rendani Munyai in 32:49.

The senior women's category went to Fhofholowani Sihadi who came home in 36:08.

Fhuthuwani Mudzani won the junior boys section in 30:39.
