Manqoba Mngqithi, coach of Lamontville Golden Arrows, is hoping winning two Absa Premiership monthly awards is the beginning of bigger things to come for them.
Mngqithi and his prolific striker Richard Henyekane this week made history by snatching the coach and player of the month awards for October and November.
It was the first time in the history of the Premiership the awards were won simultaneously by a player and coach from the same club.
"I'm pleased with the award and it's a great honour for me, but credit should go to the entire technical staff for a job well done," said Mngqithi.
"We also want to thank the support staff and management for helping to contribute to the success of the club, it's all about working as a collective.
"One is just hoping that the two awards are marking the beginning of good and bigger things, including going back to our winning ways," added the down-to-earth Mngqithi, who was watching a training session of Arrows' Under-19 development side.
Henyekane was delighted to get the award, saying it will encourage him to continue doing well for the success of Arrows.
"The award is a result of the great work, we have been working hard as a unit. I'm not chasing any award, but just to see the club doing well," he said.
"Kimberley Express" said their plan to challenge for the honours was still well on track, despite losing two in a row against Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United.
"The league is a marathon but the most important thing is consistency."
Arrows need to beat AmaZulu today to go back to the top of the log.
