If anyone still has doubts as to who will take over the South African roads, but only after the current global economic turmoil, they must check every hint out there.

Audi will soon be the number one brand here - you can shoot me for saying this.

All the road tests I have done since last year reveal where the consumers were heading, never mind the economic crisis.

The German carmaker has revealed that the new A5 and S5 convertible will be here in the second quarter of next year.

This car is directly aimed at an emotional customer.

It will come with all the blings of the A5 and S5 coupe.

If both vehicles look that good, I'm afraid the convertible is going to be the "steal stunner" of our roads, said a friend of mine.

The four-seater convertible comes with a foldable fabric top that combines a sporty character and design with the fascination of open-top driving, refined comfort, and great everyday utility.

Like all open-top Audi models, the new A5 and S5 cabriolets have a classic fabric top.

According to Audi SA, a range of powerful engines will be on offer but the exact model mix for South Africa was still to be confirmed.

Pricing will be confirmed closer to market introduction next year.
