AmaZulu have been inconsistent on the road this season, but have not been entirely disappointing at home.

Usuthu attribute the good run at home to the unwavering backing of their loyalists in KwaZulu-Natal.

Now the hard-fought 3-2 victory away at Bidvest Wits has sent confidence soaring in Usuthu's kraal ahead of their floodlit KwaZulu-Natal derby against the blunted Lamontville Golden Arrows at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi tomorrow.

This Absa Premiership match kicks off at 7.30pm and is the only one billed for tomorrow.

AmaZulu could not host the match at their home ground, Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu because of poor lighting. They also decided not to take the match to Chatsworth Stadium, their alternative venue, to avoid inconveniencing their supporters from the townships.

Umlazi is the home of Abafana Bes'thende.

"It is their home ground but we also enjoy massive support in Umlazi, and hence we are not worried that we are hosting the match there," Philani "Beach" Mabaso, AmaZulu's publicist, said yesterday.

"There is no doubt in my mind that we will have more supporters than Arrows on Wednesday. I'm appealing to our supporters to continue rooting for the team. They should not only attend our matches when we win."

AmaZulu have won four of their six matches at home.

Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi and his technical staff should work hard to lift the spirit of the players after losing 0-2 against reigning champions SuperSport United at the same venue on Saturday.

It was their second consecutive defeat after Kaizer Chiefs ended their unbeaten run this season a fortnight ago.

"We are coping with whatever comes our way, and we will do so until the last day of the season," insisted publicist Zweli Mzolo yesterday.
