A suspect accused of taking part in the murder of an Austrian footballer on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast led police to the murder weapon but claimed he was only guilty of its illegal possession, the Ramsgate high court heard yesterday.

Captain Fred Myburgh said Thokozisi Msani "volunteered" to show police where the gun was that he claimed belonged to his brother and a police informer, Zwelo Mngoma.

However, during cross-examination, his advocate, Thulane Shange, said his client "was taken to where the firearm was [located]. He never pointed it out to you".
