Platinum Stars, who host Thanda Royal Zulu in an Absa Premiership match tomorrow (kickoff is at 8pm), have been letting themselves down this season.

Their customary fearlessness and ruthlessness have been replaced by inconsistency.

Thanda have been flirting with the relegation zone, and The Tycoons can be sure that the visitors will be in a mean mood.

Stars striker Dingane Masanabo quickly came to his team's defence, saying: "Like us, most teams have struggled with consistency. We had some good wins - against Santos and Bay United - but we then faltered. The coach is very unhappy about it, so against Thanda we have to win at all cost."

With their captain Bernard Parker a target, Peter Ndlovu and July Mahlangu could take Stars on.

l Free State Stars are up against Maritzburg United at Goble Park at 3.30pm. Nothing less than a win will make up for losing the semifinals of the Telkom Knockout for Steve Komphela's team.
