Man hurt as thieves rob Safa complex

The South African Football Association was robbed on Wednesday night.

The South African Football Association was robbed on Wednesday night.

The chief executive's block, the competitions and finance departments were forcibly broken into.

"A five-man gang allegedly held security guards at the gate and proceeded into Safa offices wearing uniforms similar to those used by one of the security companies working within the complex," Safa said.

A member of staff, Wellington Ngcobo, was attacked at his work station in the competitions department and badly injured as the robbers demanded information. He was also robbed of his personal belongings.

Safa chief executive Raymond Hack condemned the incident. - Sowetan Online
