Branco Sports Production has done it once more, staging the biggest, most exciting boxing tournaments in the country this year.

The towering Branco Milenkovic and pint-sized Jacob Matlala have stood head and shoulders above their colleagues.

They will be presenting another boxing coup tonight, featuring WBC junior bantamweight and IBF lightweight eliminators at the Carousel Casino and Resort in Hammanskraal.

BSP fighter Evans Mbamba, who is ranked second by the WBC in the junior bantamweight class, will oppose Thai fighter Devid Lookmahana, the sanctioning body's number one ranked fighter.

The winner will qualify to challenge WBC, WBA and IBF junior bantamweight undisputed champion, Australian Vic Darchinyan.

BSP's Filipino fighter Ranee Ganoy will fight Don King' s charge Fernando Angulo for the number two spot in the IBF's lightweight division.

Ali Funeka is rated number one and he will challenge IBF, WBC and WBA undisputed king Nate Campbell on February 14 in the US. The winner between Ganoy and Angulo will face the winner of the Funeka-Campbell clash.

BSP's first WBC title eliminator here was in 2004 between Mzonke Fana and Randy Suico in Soweto.

This successful consortium deserves the lifetime achievement award. I belive they have outgrown the Promoter of 2008 award, which should go to Blacky Seoe.

The newcomer from Free State made an immediate impact by staging six international tournaments, which featured no less than five championship fights.

They included two WBF super middleweight and lightweight fights between holders, William Gare and Mlungisi Dlamini against Jindrich Velecky from Czech Republic and Australian Gary St Clair.

These two fights deserve nomination for the Fight of 2008 award.
