Suketu Patel, Cosafa's president, believes that the restructuring of the regional federation's executive committee from 14 to seven members will help fast-track development.
The election of the five members who will join Patel and his deputy president Salemane Phafane from Lesotho, will be conducted tomorrow during the federation's elective annual general meeting in Kimberley.
"It was difficult for a 14-member committee to make decisions. In most instances I was forced to take decisions in consultation with Phafane. I am confident that the new committee will move Cosafa to new heights," said Patel who is also president of Seychelles Football Association.
He said the disqualification of Comoros was unfortunate.
The seven candidates for the five vacant positions are Ahmad (Madagascar), Walter Nyamilanda-mana (Malawi), Premllal Jodha (Mauritius), Faizel Sidat (Mozambique), Timothy Shongwe (Swaziland), Wellington Nyatanga (Zimbabwe) and John Muinjo (Namibia).
