Ajax Cape Town have received a major boost ahead of Saturday's game with Orlando Pirates after two key players were declared fit for the big clash.

Clifford "Robot" Ngobeni and Mfundo Shumana, who have recovered from respective ankle and knee injuries, will be available for the Absa Premiership match at Johannesburg Stadium.

The 8pm fixture is expected to attract a big crowd as the two sides have been doing well lately.

The duo missed last weekend's 3-1 win over Free State Stars in East London, which saw the Urban Warriors qualifying for the final of the Telkom Knockout.

Wilfred Mugeyi, Ajax's assistant coach, said they were over the moon and ready to face the red-hot Pirates with a full squad.

"It is good that Ngobeni and Shumana are back at training and the two youngsters are doing well, their presence will give more options," he said.

"We all know that the two clubs will meet again on December 13 for the Telkom Knockout final at Chatsworth Stadium.

"Right now, as Ajax, we are focusing on the league clash at Johannesburg Stadium because the championship title is one of our priorities this season.

"Every point is important to enable us to achieve our mission of challenging for the league. We are bringing our regular squad to Johannesburg."

While Shumana could not be reached for comment, the dreadlocked Ngobeni is itching to play in Gauteng where he was born and bred.

"Orlando Pirates are on top of their game, it's the game of the weekend and there is no doubt that the supporters will get their monies' worth.

"It will be a tough one, but we will give it our best shot."

l The MTN-Ajax Loyalty Club will be launched at The Place & Grill, owned by the club's number one fan, Gladys Bailey, in Westbury on Friday.

Bailey said: "Some of the Ajax players will also be there to interact with the supporters. The event will take place between 6.30pm and 9pm."
