Mashigo, of Tladi, Soweto, said: "I have been entering the competition since it started but I had little hope I would win.
"I have a lot of plans about what I am going to use the money for. There are so many things that I wanted to do but could not because I did not have the cash - but now I can."
He said that unlike most previous winners, he did not buy multiple copies of the paper to maximise his chances of winning. So he now felt fortunate indeed.
"Winning is about luck," said the 28-year-old. He should know - he works at a casino.
