Cabinet must support Mbeki

The cabinet must support former president Thabo Mbeki's challenge to Judge Nicholson's ruling.

The cabinet must support former president Thabo Mbeki's challenge to Judge Nicholson's ruling.

Jacob Zuma's legal bills are paid by the state. The ANC must ask the state to stop paying for Zuma, Jackie Selebi and Robert McBride, whose legal bill was paid by the Ekurhuleni metro council before he was fired.

The state has paid more than R20m for Zuma's legal costs but the same ANC says Mbeki should not be supported to clear his name.

The NPA was lambasted by some in the ANC for appealing but Zuma has appealed every decision against him.

Such hatred for a genuine cadre exposes the ANC's double standards. Louis Luyt took Nelson Mandela to court and the state paid. Nicholson's ruling was wrong and even Zuma's lawyers said they had no evidence of Mbeki meddling.

Zuma must tell the nation when and where conspirators met Bulelani Ngcuka, Vusi Pikoli and Mokotedi Mpshe to plan his downfall. He must also tell the nation why he went to London and Mauritius with Shabir Shaik and why he opposed the investigation of off-shore accounts?

ANC heavyweights, who are blinded by hatred, want to write off Mbeki's outstanding contribution to South Africa and the world. But the truth will prevail one day.
