Some of the most beautiful women in Africa will get together tomorrow night at Sun City to compete for the door-opening title of Face of Africa 2008.

The winner will walk away with a prize of $50000 (about R490000) as well as a three-year modelling contract with Oluchi's dynamic O Model Africa agency.

Representing 12 countries, including Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia, the women's ages range from 17 to 24.

M-Net relaunched its legendary cross-continental model talent search after a two-year lull.

The new season will mark the seventh time that the project runs, having already delivered fresh new stars to the world's most prestigious catwalks.

Among them are Nigerian supermodel Oluchi, Botswana's Kaone Kario and Namibia's Venantia Otto, who recently graced the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.

M-Net's Face of Africa has established itself as the premier model talent initiative in Africa today.

M-Net director of original productions Carl Fischer says: "Face of Africa is a pan-African talent search showcasing Africa's beauty and style."

The finale will be screened to DStv audiences in more than 40 countries across the continent.
