Forget about the controversy that sometimes characterised Mabhuti Khenyeza's life off the pitch. The Ajax Cape Town marksman is respected by many Absa Premiership coaches on the field.

He scored a brace that plunged Bay United deeper into crisis last Sunday and should pose serious threats to the bruised Bidvest Wits who are eager to get back on their feet tonight.

They meet in what promises to be an enthralling Absa Premiership encounter at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town at 7.30.

The Students are expected to go for broke after Kaizer Chiefs taught them a soccer lesson with a 4-1 pasting at home last Saturday.

Ajax's squad is more solid for tonight's match after the return from injury of Martin Carelse and Mfundo Shumana.

Clifford Ngobeni is a doubtful starter and Granwald Scott is still nursing an injury.

Khenyeza, who joined Ajax after a fallout with Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral after one of his disappearing acts, has scored six goals this season, trailing joint leading scorers Richard Henyekane and Bernard Parker by one goal.

Wits' Zambian forward Clifford Mulenga has the potential to cause the home side trouble if let loose, as does striker Phikolethu Spelman.

Elsewhere, Thanda Royal Zulu welcome the inconsistent Santos to KwaZulu-Natal's Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammersdale in another match today. Kickoff is at 3.30pm.

l Defending champions SuperSport United travel to Seisa Ramabodu Stadium to engage basement club Bloemfontein Celtic in another 3.30pm kickoff.

Platinum Stars and Free State Stars battle it out at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg at 7.30pm.
