Collective effort and individual skill are bound to be on display when Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows clash in an Absa Premiership game at Orlando Stadium tonight at 7.30pm.

This much-awaited encounter is likely to be transformed into an epic battle for supremacy and could steal the thunder from the Orlando Pirates and Thanda Royal Zulu game at the same venue on Saturday.

The last time the two sides met the fiery Abafana Bes'thende clobbered Chiefs 4-1 in a cup game, and the giant killers from the coast who are leading the Premiership log are determined to keep the momentum going .

Fans who are going to throng the rebuilt stadium, once the Mecca of South African soccer, are likely to be thrilled.

None of the current crop of players from both sides has played at this venue, except for Arthur Zwane and Abia Nale when they were still youngsters.

"I feel good and to me it's an opportunity to display my skill at this venue, where legends used to entertain the crowds. It is some kind of homecoming for me," said Zwane who scored two goals against Wits at the weekend.

Chiefs' recent recruit Ibezito Ogbonna is likely to be a massive problem to the Arrows defence. He also scored a brace against the Students signifying that the team's scoring problems might be over.

"We've no injuries and it's a completely new ball game, different from when they beat us," said Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung.

Arrows spokesman Zweli Mzolo said: "We have neither injuries nor suspensions, we're ready for Chiefs."

Arrows' Nale said: "I played at this stadium when I was a small boy. Playing at this venue is a motivating factor because of its rich history. But our main objective in the league is consistency and to stay focused."

Arrows' major weapons are teamwork, speed and their high fitness level.
