Top actors will play their part as they bring the 16 Days of Activism for no violence against Women and Children campaign alive through theatre.

Veteran actor Jerry Mofokeng and TV writer Nomcebo Ngema co-wrote Don't Look Away, a play that tackles the reality and issues surrounding women and child abuse in South Africa.

The play stars Coco Merckel and Esmeralda Bijl, who have acted in Suburban Bliss and the film Max and Mona, and TV's Heartlines respectively.

"Expect to shed a tear and also laugh and reflect," said Mofokeng.

The play will also endeavour to present solutions to the audience "through what is left unsaid," as well as delivering practical information on ways of overcoming the problem, he added.

Don't Look Away will tour the country from tomorrow until December 11.

The play will be staged in Polokwane, Durban, Thaba Nchu in the Free State, Cape Town, Mafikeng and East London.

Tickets are available at Computicket.
