Softball body streamlines

Softball South Africa (SSA) has come out with a strategic administrative plan to ensure the effective running and development of the ball game in the country.

The plan was outlined by the federation's president, Guillo "S'Dumo" Marapyane after its executive committee was re-elected unopposed at its recent biennial elections.

In ensuring the efficiency of softball administration in the provinces, the national governing body and its affiliates decided to form subcommittees.

This led to the streamlining of the SSA executive committee after the affiliates approved the amendments to the constitution to exclude additional members from the executive committee.

These members, including other provincial executive members, will stand for elections to serve in the sub-committees. They will be elected at the federation's first council meeting in January.

"I'm appealing to all the affiliates to nominate their preferred candidates for the elections for the subcommittees. We are hopeful that this will benefit all the provinces in terms of effective administration. There will also be those who will pay special attention to the development of the ball game in the regions and at schools," Marapyane said.
