The Local Organising Committee has pledged to do their utmost best to ensure that the 2009 Confederations Cup will be one of the greatest shows ever in its history.
Irvin Khoza, LOC chairman, said: "As Africans, we are standing together, relishing the challenge, ensuring we make the most of this historic opportunity. To Fifa, thank you for your trust. We will not let you down."
On Saturday's draw, LOC chief executive Danny Jordaan said: "What we saw tonight shows that our organisational capabilities are comparable to anything, and is proof that there is no contradiction between African and world class.
"It is a show that will have given the world confidence that the 2010 Fifa World Cup is in good hands and it has also made us South Africans more confident."
Tickets for the Confederations Cup went on sale yesterday online at www.fifa.com or First National Bank. A category four ticket, reserved for South Africans, will remain fixed at R70 for a group match and R210 for the final.
